While leaving the temple of Rudreshwar, one can descend the staircase to look at a majestic waterfall shedding its exuberant silvery showers.

The beautiful Harvalem fall, with a head of about 24 feet high, forms a sizeable lake at the bottom, which offers a sizeable temptation to seasoned swimmers. The Rock cut caves are just situated nearby adds a touch of antiquity to this beautiful place.

It is a sacred Tank of Bubbles attached to the Gopinath Temple and appears to be green and very clean. Here one can see continuous Bubbles rising up to the surface at different spots.

The Bubbles are known to strangely increase in intensity if one claps loudly. There are various legends regarding the origin of these Bubbles and according to some it is a miracle of the Local Deity. However, according to scientists, the Bubbles can be caused by sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, limestone or methane.

Earlier Divar Island was a sacred place for Hindus. There were lot of Hindu Temples at this island, but were destroyed by Portuguese while conquering Goa. Some of them are even present today and among them is the famous The Ganesh Temple.

The popularity of Divar Island is connected with preserved gorgeous and well-groomed Portuguese villas in Piedado village. Some of them are opened for Tourists. Divar Island is one of a few places in Goa, where you can enjoy Urak – light version of Feni made of Cashew- all year long.

A lot of fishing can also be done in these dam waters. A very nice scenic tourist attraction extending westward from the Sahyadris hills.

This is a perfect place for those who intend to take a good break as it lies deep in the valley between hills.

It touches the border of Karnataka state and in the lean season, several Gaurs are known to come into Cotigao from its neighbourhood.

The vegetation is mostly moist-deciduous type, interspersed with semi-evergreen and evergreen patches.

A little further down the slope of this ridge to the east, surrounded by the tropical woodlands and waving betel-nut palms is the celebrated spring of Kesarval.

It is very astonishing to see men climbing on very tall trees while maintaining a balance and at the same time plucking betel nut fruits from those swaying trees.

The Spice plantations are managed by people who have comprehensive knowledge and excel in technical know how of farming spices.

The Lake itself sits on wooded shores in a landscape of low hills. Bird-life is plentiful here, with a variety of birds making their home on the shores of the Lake.

The placid waters of this Lake are ideal for boating. Small pedal operated boats are available for a charming boat ride on the Lake.

The sanctuary is being considered for being elevated to the status of a Project Tiger Reserve because of the presence of Royal Bengal Tigers. Indian Gaur, the state animal of Goa, can be spotted here along with sloth Bears, Mongooses, Wild Dogs, slender Loris, Deers and Panthers.

The sanctuary boasts of a wide variety of birds making it a bird watcher’s paradise. It is also the abode of many endangered species of birds.

The panoramic view is a sheer delight for shutterbugs. Nearby by the Dam; there is a Beautiful Botanical Garden. Tourists, Couples and Families in huge numbers head to this place to spend some great time together.

A huge number of feathered creatures serve as eye-candy for birdwatchers here. Make sure you don’t return to home without enjoying the dramatic Sunset.

The common animals that inhabit the sanctuary are the Gaur and the Sambar Deer. It is a popular destination for school picnics. It is closed on Thursdays.

Thick forest clad slopes of the western ghats that is rich in wildlife and a paradise for bird watchers.

Unless you stay for at least a couple of days, it is unlikely that you will catch a glimpse of many of the animals that are sheltered in the sanctuary, including Gaur, Sambar, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Slender Loris, Jungle Cats, Malayan Giant Squirrels, Pythons and Cobras.

The best period for visiting is during Monsoon; the vegetation in this period retrieves the succulent rich color and looks very fresh. During summer the waterfall dries up.

There are several legends connected to this place. One of them tells about the islands emerging from diamonds that were thrown away by the Mother of Lord Krishna – the Goodness Yashoda.

The Chorao Island is attractive primarily because of its amazing flora and fauna. Here you will see lots of mangroves – the amazing and beautiful forests growing in the water.

In the western part of the island, the Goa’s largest “Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary”. is located.

This Island also preserves the traces of a very interesting ancient history, Indian Brahmin and Portuguese colonizers. Here you will see several Old Houses, Catholic Churches of the 16th century and lot of Hindu Temples.
