CORJUEM FORT, this little fort has its strategic importance in history. this fort was Initially, held by the Bhonsles, then Portuguese occupied this Fort .
Afterwards Portuguese used it as a strategic defence point against the Marathas, Bhonsles and the Rane Rajputs.
The Fort was built with pitted laterite, it is one of the two such inland forts that still survive in Goa. There is a small chapel here dedicated to Mae de Deus (Mother of God). The location of the Fort bestows the spot with lots of natural appeal.
